Digitising

2-Digitasing.jpg

Digitising is a process of converting information from a paper drawing or map into digital format. For this purpose technique called “tracing” is used - after obtaining scanned map the digital image is positioned and scaled to fit existing coordinate system. Next step is to locate and coordinate existing features, labels, lines and other spatial data using computer aided design software.

This technique is particularly useful for updating historic map data, comparing changes on site, archaeological and historical research as well as digitising old title deeds and estate plans.

We offer digitising service with 2D CAD output.
